Went from ~28k in chips to 35k
Took advantage of a few opportunities. Most notably:
1). At 1/200 level I Raise to 500 with (favorite hand) 99. 4 callers!!?? Flop is 7 high. I C-bet 1100, 1 caller. Turn a not so great Q. I lead out 2500 and villain folds. Nice lil pot.
2). Raise 500 UTG with KJ. Button calls. Flop is AJ9hh. I lead out 800, he calls. He's "tight old guy"...I know he has A or flush draw. Turn 2h. Oops. Now I can't beat either. But with my cultivated "tight/solid" image I lead out 2000. He calls. Oops. I am relegated to hoping for a K or J on river and showing down or check calling to at least control the pot. River is Kc. Bingo. Check, check, he shows A10 and Pman actually hit a 5 outer to river the guy. Whaddaya know....it happens.
3). In high jack seat, I raise 500 with J8dd. Cut off re-raises to 1500, Button calls. Uh oh, button guy is uber tight. But with 3800 already in pot, I'm getting 3.8/1 on a call. I do. Flop is AK8dd. Flop checks around. Turn Qd. Bingo. Nuts! I check hoping someone slow played SOMEthing. But it checks around. River blank. I have nuts, lead out 2500 into 4800 pot. All unfortunately fold.
Onto level 3 with a little more ammo.
